Edgar Gene Paulson

Burleson - Edgar "Gene" Paulson was born September 1, 1934, at home in Meridian, Texas, to Christian and Pearl West Paulson. Gene was the youngest of four children.

After graduating from high school. He joined the Army serving three years in Germany during the Korean War.

In 1958, Gene joined the Fort Worth Police Department and worked in many divisions of the department over his career. He rose to the rank of Sergeant and was in charge of the Hit and Run Division when he retired in 1992.

Gene and Mary Maxon were married in Burleson, Texas in the early 70's, separated and found each other again in 1998. Gene was an avid golf player, and he and Mary enjoyed travelling to many cities and countries over the years. He was a Christian and member of Pathway Church in Burleson where he loved to serve.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents Christian and Pearl West Paulson; siblings Chris Paulson, Bernice Turner, Bill Paulson, and daughters Karen and Kelli.

Here to carry on his legacy of love: wife Mary Maxon Paulson, son Kerry Paulson, bonus daughters Robin Rhoades (Jim) and Alisha Carpenter(Stephen) , and bonus sons Robert Alldredge Jr. (Sherry) and Nathan Maxon. Grandchildren: Kyle (Araceli) and Jacob Paulson, Joshua (Mandy) and Brittany Rhoades, Nolan, Emilia and Brooks Carpenter, Ashleigh, Rebecca, Robert III Alldredge, and Laith Maxon. Great grandchildren: Cheyanne, Atticus, Dauntez, Jolei, Eaden, Xavian Paulson, Avery Small (Austin) Alice and James Rhoades, Bryson Alldredge, and Great Great Grandson Cason Small.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 SW Wilshire Blvd, Joshua, Texas.

Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Pathway Church, 325 NW Renfro, Burleson. Burial arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pathway Church.
