Pamela Maddux Obituary

Pamela Jo Maddux was born in Mount Pleasant, Texas on July 17, 1953, to Howard and Mary Cobb. She passed away peacefully at her home in Joshua, Texas surrounded by her family on Wednesday evening March 13, 2024.
She grew up in Fort Worth, Texas where she met (as Larry has instructed us to say) the love of her life. They were married on March 27, 1970, and started their family in Everman, Texas. They moved to Joshua, Texas in 1981 where they built their family home. This family home is where the legacy of Ma-Maw began.
Ma-Maw was a truly remarkable woman whose hobbies and talents touched the lives of all who knew her. Saying she lived life to the fullest would be an understatement. Ma-Maw's love for the great outdoors was evident in her passion for camping, traveling, hiking, and horseback riding, where she found joy in the beauty of nature. Ma-Maw was an incredibly talented individual, a woman whose abilities knew no bounds. To attempt to list all her talents would be an impossible feat, as her skills were as varied as they were impressive. Water skiing, snow skiing, painting, crafting, sewing, quilting, cake decorating, and, yes, even belly dancing.
Above all else, Ma-Maw's greatest joy in life was her family. As a devoted wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend she poured her heart and soul into nurturing those she held dear. Although a few knew her as Pam, she will always be remembered as Ma-Maw to those whose lives she touched. She was more than a matriarch - she was a hero, a role model, and true embodiment of love and strength, selflessly and quietly leading by example. We will forever carry with us the memories of her laughter, her warmth, and her unwavering love. Thank you for being our Ma-Maw.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mary Cobb and her brother Buddy Cobb.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Larry Maddux; children, Steve Maddux, Cathy and Pete Van Weezel; grandchildren, Haley and Tyler Weyenberg, Caitlyn and Erik Carr, Logan Maddux, and Gracie Van Weezel; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Brooklyn, Brinley, and Dakota; sister, Cindy and brother-in-law Steve Cloud; sister-in-law Debera Cobb; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Johnson County Meals on Wheels, and National Wildlife Federation.
