William Richard (Dick) Lees
July 20, 1930 - February 29, 2024

William Richard (Dick) Lees, 93 years of age passed peacefully from this world on the evening of February 29th, 2024.
Dick was born on July 20, 1930 to Gertrude Dallas Lees and Herbert George Lees in Big Spring, Texas. He moved to Brownfield, Texas at the age of 4 into the wonderful home of his grandparents, Mae Ellen and William Harley Dallas. He loved Brownfield and the people that surrounded him.
After a year in the US Navy and another year in the US Navy Reserve, he attended Texas Christian University and later graduated in 1957 from the University of North Texas with a degree in Business.
He married Patricia Humphreys and began his family including his children: Dallas Lees Owen, Bruce Alan Lees and Leann Lees White. While raising his family, Dick enjoyed a career in business with El Paso Products Company in Odessa, Texas. After retirement, he began his entrepreneur career with the accounting company, Comprehensive Business Services which he sold when he moved to Fort Worth.
Dick served as President of the Lions Club, volunteered for the Permian Panther booster club (many nights at the concession stand), and served as an elder and treasurer at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He also served as an elder at First Presbyterian Church. He was always active in church and community affairs while living in Odessa.
In 1981, Dick married JoEllen Moody and they were happily married until JoEllen's passing on July 19,2022. They loved life!
They moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1998 to be near their children and grandchildren. Dick continued to work with several companies in various accounting departments until the age of 88. They were active in the senior choir at Travis Avenue Baptist Church. After JoEllen's passing, Dick joined Pathway Church and was the door greeter for many years-welcoming all who entered the doors. He joined 2 small groups at Pathway because he loved people!
Dick is preceded in death by his wife, JoEllen Lees.
He is survived by his daughters: Dallas Lees Owen and husband Rick Owen, Leann Lees White and her husband Joe White, Jr. and his son, Bruce Lees. His grandchildren: Justin Owen and his wife Lara, Jacob Owen and his wife, Summer, James Owen and his wife Corinne, Alexa White and Merrick White. Great grandchildren: Lennyx Owen, Ryder Owen, Dallas Owen and Saylor Owen.
A celebration will be held on Friday, March 8th at 1:00 at Pathway Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Pathway Church or a charity of your choice.
