JOSHUA -- Albert B. David, 74, a retired superintendant, went to be with the Lord Sunday July 4, 2010 after a 2 1/2 year battle with prostrate cancer. Mass: 11 am Thursday at St Ann Catholic Church in Burleson. Visitation: 6:30-8 pm Wed. with a Rosary starting at 8 pm at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the animal shelter of your choice. Al was born on June 16, 1936 in Friendship, TX to Emil and Freda David. He was the tenth of twelve children. He married Jean Sielaff on Nov. 19, 1955 in Taylor. In 1956 in he went to work for Lone Star Gas Co. In his career he moved to various areas, ranging from Hillsboro, Dallas, the west Texas area and finally to Fort Worth. He then retired after 38 years of service. Al played the guitar and even had his own band when he was younger. He enjoyed doing household repairs, going on gambling trips, spending time with his granddaughters and above all golf. Almost each day would find him playing a round of golf with his friends and then visiting afterwards. Survivors: Loving wife of 53 years, Jean David; daughter, Shelley Hall; granddaughters, Erin and Taylor Hall; sisters, Martha Messbarger, Margie Vanecek and husband George; Alice Heselmeyer and husband Albert; brother, Frank David and wife Patsy; numerous nieces and nephews and a great group of golfing buddies.
