Allen Painter

Allen Painter, 89, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: 3 p.m. Saturday in Yantis Cemetery in Yantis. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Allen was born May 2, 1923, in Commerce to the late Alfred D. and Ruby M. Stephens Painter. He retired after 33 years as a draftsman for United Gas Pipeline. He was a proud World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of First Baptist Church of Crowley. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juandine Young Painter; brothers, Boyd Painter and Marshall Painter; and sisters, Lucy May Allen, Joyce Hill and Martha Ann Elkins. Survivors: Daughters, Judy Painter and Tami Painter; brother, Loyd "Bud" Painter and wife, Maurine; several nieces and nephews; loving extended family; and friends.
