Alma Jean King, 81 of Burleson, a retired property manager for First City National Bank in Arlington, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 9 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Burleson. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Alma Jean King was born March 2, 1930, in Muskogee, Okla., to Walter Malcolm and Lillie Mae Medlock Wessinger. She married John C. "Bulldog" King on July 9, 1948, in Checotah, Okla. She was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Burleson and the church choir. She loved her church, her family and her life, and lived it to the fullest every day. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Weldon "Bud" Wessinger; and a sister, Frances Schmidt. Survivors: Sons, John Bruce King and wife, Vickie, of Burleson and Rock King and wife, Suzanne, of Van Alstyne; daughters, Deborah Jean King Lister and husband, Charlie, of McKinney, Becky King Langbein and husband, Mark, of Burleson and Cynthia Ann King Brown and husband, Jerry, of Collinsville; brother, Larry Wessinger and wife, Ocie, of Burleson; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members; and an untold amount of friends and loved ones.
