Arda Elwyn Jones

BURLESON -- Arda "Elwyn" Jones, 80, of Burleson, a retired truck owner, died November, 24, 2007 in Cleburne. Graveside Service: 2:00 pm Tuesday at Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation: 10am - 12 noon Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Elwyn Jones was born April 3, 1927 in Burleson to Arda O. and Mae Van Winkle Jones. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married Lucille Tate on Nov. 23, 1960 in Fort Worth. Elwyn loved to fly, he had a commercial pilots license. He enjoyed gardening and attending air shows. He also was a welder and mechanic, tool designer and loved horseshoe art. Elwyn was a longtime Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth. Survivors: Wife, Lucille Jones of Burleson; sons, Loren Courtney and wife Carla of Midlothian, Randy Courtney and wife Vicky of Burleson; daughter, Vicki Sanco of Burleson; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
