Audrey Mae Scott, 87, of Burleson, formerly of Lamar and Red River Counties, passed away November 4, 2014 with her family beside her. Service: 3:00 PM, Friday, November 7, 2014 at St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burleson. Interment: 2:00 PM Monday, November 10 at DFW National Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 PM, Thursday at the Funeral Home. Audrey was born May 1, 1927, in Lamar County to Sidney and Ola Nance. A graduate of Deport High School, she went on to obtain an Associate Degree from Paris Jr. College. She married Martin Bee Scott on February 3, 1950. Audrey was a busy farm wife and working mother, a strong role model for her family. She had a long career with Stone Title and Abstract Co., Paris, and with Southwest Land Title Co., Mesquite. Audrey was widely known during her retirement for baking the best brownies and pear cakes ever. A woman of great faith, she was active in her church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; 3 siblings, Eva Belle Lamb, Leola Cooper, Richard Nance; nephews, Conrad Brumley and Randal Nance. Survivors: her children and their spouses, Britt and Jacquline Scott, Deborah and Philip Lightfoot; brother and sister-in-law, Elbert and Nancy Nance; brother and sister-in-law, Warren and LaVerne Cooper; sisters-in-law, Marie Brumley and Juanita Cremeen; grandchildren, Sean Scott and wife Courtney, Jason Scott and wife Geneva, Nicholas Scott and wife Andi, Laura Lightfoot; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sean Scott, Jason Scott, Nicholas Scott, Laura Lightfoot, David Eder and Michael Prewitt. Honorary pallbearers will be David Prewitt, Michael Young, and John Horadam.
