Bea S. "MeMaw" Newby, 68 of Burleson, a homemaker, died Saturday Jan. 8, 2011 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Alsbury Baptist Church in Burleson. Interment: Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Beatrice Newby was born Sept. 25, 1942 in Cleburne to Earnest E. and Tinnie B. Robinson Smith. She married Cary Overton Newby on May 29, 1957 in Cleburne. She was a member of Alsbury Baptist Church in Burleson and loved being MeMaw. She was preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers; and 2 sisters. Survivors: Husband, Cary O. Newby of Burleson; son, gary Lee Newby and wife, Judy of Whitney; daughters, Joyce E. Strickland and husband, Randy, of Burleson, Darla D. Pitts and fiance, Mark Stubblefield, of Burleson; brother, James Smith Sr. and wife, Paula of Burleson; grandchildren, Samantha, Alan, Andy, Gary Jr., Carrie, Kevin, Amanda; great grandchildren, Taylor, Zach, Cassidy, Cole, Alexia, Stella Reese; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
