BURLESON -- Bessie L. Wood, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Bessie was born October 2, 1925 in Sidney, Texas to Forest Bedford and Della Johnson Chambers. Bessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to make a home for her family and loved her children very much. She was a strong believer and a devout christian. Bessie was a great cook. She loved gardening, flowers and loved to do needlework. She will be missed by all who loved and cared for her. Special thanks to all of the Harris Hospital staff for their care and compassion. Survivors: Husband, Jesse Wood of Burleson; daughters, Jane Branum McKnight and husband Bennie of Denton, Diann Robertson and husband Dale of Cleburne; sons, Richard Wood and wife Gayla of Arlington, John David Wood of Bogota, Donnie Wood and wife Sheri of Crowley; sisters, Mattie Lemons of Burleson, Maggie Phillips of Monahans; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
