Betty Moertle

JOSHUA -- Betty Jean Moertle, 84, a homemaker of Joshua, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday in D/FW National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emery J. Lilge Hospice House, 301 Med Park Circle Burleson, Texas 76028. Betty was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Springfield, Mo., to Donald T. Sr. and Mary Lou Davis Walker. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to water ski, snow ski and work in the yard along with gardening. Betty also loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence John Moertle, on Aug. 16, 2008. Survivors: Sons, Randal Jay Moertle and wife, Dixie, of Lockport, La., Larry Dean Moertle of Joshua, James Alton Moertle of San Francisco, Calif.; daughter, Debora Ann Kirby of Plano; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Kay Moertle of Ames, Iowa; and grandchildren, Shane Davis Kirby, Ashley Nicole Morgan, Cassie Rene Morgan, Tajia Dawn Moertle, Jasmine Adrina Moertle and Marjorie Louise Ferris.
