Betty Jean Rogers

June 28, 1927 — September 3, 2019

Betty Jean Sherbet Rogers born June 28, 1927, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 3, 2019, at the age of 92. Betty was the daughter of Edgar and Eva Beth Sherbet, the oldest of three children. She was born in Wichita Falls Texas. The family moved to Fort Worth, shortly after Betty was born. Betty graduated from Poly High School and married Grover Rogers, in 1945 after he returned from serving in the United States Navy during World War 2.
Betty and Grover lived in Fort Worth and had six children, before settling in Burleson, Texas in 1961. Betty was s homemaker, a childcare worker and a preschool teacher at the Burleson Church of Christ Rainbow School. She was a devoted member of the Burleson Christ of Christ for 58 years. Betty and Grover were married for 53 years until Grover's death in 1998. Betty loved music, musical theatre, gardening, bird watching and Jesus. She was what her grandchildren describe as "the most fun, creative grandmother ever". Betty was described by her friends as caring, devoted, and encouraging. Her children rise up and called her blessed.
Betty was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Grover and her son Rick Rogers. She is survived by her sons Randy Rogers and wife Kristen, Gordon Rogers and wife Lou Dean, daughters Pam Dollar and husband Buck, Patty Weaver and husband Wade, Paula Bryant and husband Ronnie, and daughter-in-law Jan Rogers, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, friends and a loving church family, The Burleson Church of Christ.
Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, September 7, 10:00 am at The Burleson Church of Christ in Burleson
