Betty Vest Thompson, 80, of Meridian, a retired accountant, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, in Meridian. Memorial service: A private service will be held at a later date. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Betty was born July 15, 1930, in Fort Worth to William Clifford and Myrna Evans Vest. Betty spent her childhood in the Rock Creek community and continued to live in the surrounding area until she moved from Burleson to Meridian several years ago. Betty was a graduate of Joshua High School. She worked in various accounting positions during her career and retired from Mrs Baird's Bakery. Survivors: Daughter, Paula Overstreet and husband, Cliff, of Weatherford; son, Clyde Wayne Thompson and his wife, Sharon, of Meridian; brother, C.W. Vest and his wife, Linda, of Joshua; sister, Phyllis Sandlin and her husband, M.T., of Cleburne; two granddaughters; one grandson; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
