BURLESON -- Bill Stowe, 79, of Burleson, a retired quality control consultant, died Monday Dec. 1, 2008, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Burleson Church of Christ. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. William Robert "Bill" Stowe was born April 2, 1929, in Handley to Matthew and Beatrice Cummings Stowe. He married JoAnn Greene on July 3, 1948, in Weatherford. Bill was a member of the Burleson Church of Christ, served on the Burleson City Council for many years, and was a past member of the Burleson Lions Club. He also enjoyed bird hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survivors: Wife of 60 years, JoAnn Stowe of Burleson; sons, Randy Stowe and wife, Linda, of Covington, Royce Stowe of Fort Worth; daughter, Shelia Hailey and husband, Phillip, of Keller; sisters, Dorothy Allen and Mary Sims; grandchildren, Matthew and Aaron Stowe, Chris and Erika Hailey; and four great-grandchildren.
