BURLESON -- Billie Louise Dees Sawyer, 81, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Burleson. Burial: Caddo Cemetery in Joshua. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Mrs. Sawyer was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Vera to Albert Jackson and Lillie Ellen Blackburn Shoopman. She married J.C. Dees on May 22, 1942, in Houston. Mr. Dees preceded her in death March 26, 1985. She married Thomas Sawyer on Oct. 9, 1993, in Burleson. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson. She was an artist, enjoyed playing Forty Two, loved to travel and antiques, and loved her family dearly. Survivors: Husband, Thomas L. Sawyer Sr. of Burleson; sons, Donnie Dees and wife, Pahla, of Joshua and Kenny Dees and wife, Laurie, of Granbury; daughter, Ann Williams and husband, Barry, of Joshua; stepson, Thomas Sawyer Jr.; stepdaughter, Pam Knight and husband, David; brothers, Wilburn Shoopman and wife, Sharon, of California and Leroy Shoopman of San Antonio; sisters, Laverne Hartsfield and husband, Dub, of Corpus Christi, Joetta Hemby of Seguin and Hattie Watipka of San Antonio; grandchildren, Dustin, Kristen, Shelly, Robin, Darren, Kevin and Colin; great-grandchildren, Kora and Kyler; stepgrandchildren, Trey, Kristi Lynn, Amy, Jeff and Patrick; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Alyssa, Kenzie, Connor and Cooper.
