BURLESON -- Boyce A. McKnight, 76, a retired custodian for the Burleson ISD and crossing guard for Frazier Elementary, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at his residence. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Burial: 2 p.m. in Chalk Mountain Cemetery in Somervell County. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Burleson. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society. Boyce Alex McKnight was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Erath County to Tommie L. and Ollie M. Wilson McKnight. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korea War. He married Thelma Lee Porter on Jan. 3, 1953, in Glen Rose. Boyce loved fishing, sports, cooking and telling stories. He liked playing bridge and forty two. He loved his family and his church dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Roberta Fergason, Vella Nix; and a son, Dewey McKnight. Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Thelma McKnight of Burleson; sons, Darrell McKnight and wife, Judy of Joshua, Troy McKnight and wife, Paula of Burleson, Cary McKnight and wife, Faye of Burleson; brother, Hoyt McKnight of California; sister, LaNell Baley and husband, Bill of Ferry; grandsons, Justin, Jarrid; granddaughters, Afton, Chalice, Nicole; great-grandchildren, Nicademus, Lili, Tristen, Layne, Lexi; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
