Caroline Taylor Campbell
Caroline Taylor Campbell was born on July 3, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Frances Taylor. She passed away on September 22, 2023 in Cleburne, Texas.
She spent most of her childhood in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating high school, she attended Abilene Christian College. There she met the love of her life, John Campbell of Chatsworth, California. They married on August 27, 1965. After graduating college, they moved to New Castle, Delaware, to begin teaching and help build up the church in that area. They spent several years there, then moved to Memphis, Tennessee. Teaching was always Caroline's passion. While teaching in Memphis, she obtained her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was also the director at the Brownsville Road Nursery School. Caroline taught for many years after moving to Camden, Arkansas in 1983. After retiring in 2007, she and John moved to Alvarado, Texas. They became members of the Burleson Church of Christ at that time. Caroline taught the second grade Bible class for many years, finding true joy in teaching the word of God to the children. Her total teaching experience exceeded 40 years.
Another passion of Caroline's was helping others. She found purpose in volunteering for Meals on Wheels in Alvarado. She not only delivered meals, but also checked on and visited with her meal recipients. She was well known in her neighborhood for being friendly and having a love of all pets. Everyone knew her and her dogs, and she knew theirs as well.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, James Paul Taylor and Frances Hardeman Taylor of Mayfield, Kentucky.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Campbell of Alvarado, Texas and their children: Cindy and (husband) Chris Shipley of Pocahontas, Tennessee, and David and (wife) Cindy Campbell of Alvarado, Texas; three grandchildren: Amber Campbell of Alvarado, Texas, and Hope and Anthony Shipley of Pocahontas, Tennessee; one brother: Paul Taylor of Phenix City, Alabama; and two nieces: Tracy Tures of Spanish Fort, Alabama and Kelly Wilson of Phenix City, Alabama.
