Cary was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on Oct. 22, 1957, to Robert Otis Jones and Virginia Birdell (Jennings) Jones. He grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, with his parents and sister, Robin. On June 21, 1969, at the age of 11, Cary accepted the Lord as his Savior through the waters of baptism where he walked the Christian walk for over 50 years. He has three daughters, Amie, Amber and Laurie, that he raised in Burleson, Texas, until they were married. Cary currently lived in Weatherford, Texas, with his sister and her husband.
Cary loved his God and because of that, he loved his family very well. His girls were his world and he gave them his whole heart until his nine grandchildren came along. He was the best Papaw and loved to talk about his grandkids. He was amazing at making everyone feel special and supported his family with anything they wanted to do. Cary never met a stranger and always greeted people with a big smile and a hello. He was a friend to all. He was silly, fun and funny. Cary was known for his big bear hugs. If you ever got one you would never forget it. He was a comforter, available and very intentional. His hobbies included going to TCU football games, Ranger games and Nascar Races with his grandsons and sons-in-law.
Cary was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his three children, daughter, Amie (Jones) Davison and husband, Brian, of Burleson, Texas, daughter, Amber (Jones) Wurzbach and husband, Roger, of Burleson, Texas, daughter, Laurie (Jones) Conder and husband, Tim, of Burleson, Texas. He was also a Papaw to his nine precious grandchildren, Billy, Megan, Jared, Logan, Joshua, Lexi, Jenny, Trent and Calen. Cary is also survived by his dear sister, Robin (Jones) Ginn and husband, John, of Weatherford, Texas; nephew, Bradley Mitchell; niece, Heather Mitchell; and great-nephew, Jude Mitchell.
Honoring his generous wish, the gift of life will be shared with many people in need through tissue donation where he will save over 100 lives.
