JOSHUA -- Charles Holmes Allgood, 89, of Joshua, a retired supervisor inspector, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Hallmark Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Vistitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Charles was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Bellevue to Albert A. and Etta C. Lankford Allgood. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 during World War II. He was a member of Hallmark Baptist Church for 34 years and a previous member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church for 30 years. Charles loved gardening, watching westerns and taking care of his faithful cat, Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Virginia; and brother, J.O. Allgood. Survivors: Sons, Charles David Allgood of Arlington and James Allgood and wife, Cathy, of Crowley; grandchildren, Samuel and Alex Allgood, Kendra Gonzalez, Kellie Block and husband, Marc, and Stephanie Allgood; great-grandchildren, Mattie and Andy Block; cousin, Marie Hendrix and husband, Harlold; and numerous nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
