Charles (Bill) O'Bar

September 22, 1944 — January 2, 2015

Charles "Bill" O'Bar, 70, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at a Fort Worth hospital. Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Caddo Cemetery, Joshua. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Bill was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Sherman to T.C. O'Bar Jr. and Georgia Porter, and raised by his grandparents, T.C. O'Bar Sr. and Lila Griffin O'Bar. He met his loving wife, Linda Sue Howell, in Fort Worth in August 1962. They married Aug. 10, 1964, in Alvarado and celebrated 50 years in August. Bill worked for Mrs. Baird's Bakeries for 39 years and still has many friends there. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., and later serving in Vietnam at Da Nang Air Base. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Bill will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers. Survivors: his wife of 50 years, Linda Sue O'Bar of Crowley; daughter, Amanda Lynn Kacsir of Joshua; granddaughters, Hannah Elizabeth and Presley Layne Kacsir of Joshua; sisters, Irene Edwards of Sherman, Winona Holland and husband, Cliff, of North Richland Hills, Judy Beth Rocker of Kenton, Tenn.; brothers, Ben O'Bar and wife, Sharon, of Alvarado, AND Troy O'Bar of Hillsboro; AND numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
