Charles Marshall Tyson passed away December 12, 2021 at the age of 85.
Born on November 29,1936 in Levelland, Texas to Clara Bolinger and William Marshall Tyson, he was the first born son, until little brother Jesses was born. Charles lost his father at the young age of 4, when his dad was struck by lightning while checking on cattle. His mother worked very hard to provide for her 2 young sons. Hard work is a Tyson trait that has been passed down for generations. Clara married Ivey Loftis when Charles was 10 years old. Ivey was just the kind of man he needed to develop his character and navigate him through his teen years, and BE HIS DAD until he passed away.
Charles met the love of his life, Frances Anne Ramsey on January 1,1957 after meeting through Frances’ aunt. Charles has been a life-long student always learning and growing. He attended Texas Tech University while farming his family farm in Levelland. Charles William Marshall Tyson was born March 28, 1958; followed by Darlene in May of 1960 and Stephen Lynn in April of 1962.
Charles and Frances moved their young family to Ft. Worth, Texas in 1966 so that he could continue his education at TCU. Judy Kay Tyson was born March of 1968, and Charles received his Bachelor’s degree from TCU in May of 1968.
Charles worked almost his entire post-farming career in the Graphic Arts field, mastering the art of the printing press and had an exceptional eye for details! He began his teaching career at Burleson High School in 1971; Navarro College in Corsicana, (commuted for 2 years), and finished his many years as an educator at Burleson High School, retiring in 2002. Many students were taught valuable character and life lessons from Mr. Tyson’s years of service in public education.
Charles was proceeded in death by his mother, and both of his dads: William Marshall Tyson and Ivey Loftis, his siblings and daughter in love ~ Michelle Palmer Tyson.
Charles leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Frances Anne Tyson; his children: Marshall and Beth Tyson of Burleson; Darlene and Tim Denton of Burnet; Stephen Tyson of Floresville and Judy and David Hadley of Burleson; 13 Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren, who Charles adored and loved spending his time with!
Anyone who knew Charles Tyson knows he was a student of the Bible; filled with great faith and devotion to our heavenly father. He was a longtime member and elder for the Burleson Church of Christ where he served humbly and faithfully.
