Cheryl Faye Browning

January 21, 1959 — February 11, 2018

Cheryl Faye Browning left this world on February 11, 2018, in the arms of her loving husband, surrounded by her loving children and family. Cheryl was born in Fort Worth, Texas on January 21, 1959, the youngest daughter of Darce and Jack Pape. She moved to Burleson when she was 11, though she wasn't happy about the move, this changed her life, as it would be where she met her husband and raised her children. Cheryl was a free spirit and very much did things in her own way and time, no matter how unorganized or crazy it was. Her death was very much the same way, on her own terms and in own way. Her greatest mission in life was her marriage, her kids, and her grandkids. She was an LVN as a young adult, but that job wasn't a good fit, there was too much sadness and sick people. She needed to be apart of the party.... Actually, she needed to be the center of the party. She went into bartending at the Petroleum Club and then the Fort Worth Club. She loved being able to make people smile, so the service industry was a perfect fit. Her favorite job was being a wife. She loved taking care of people and who better to take care of, then the love of her life. The love between Cheryl and Robert was one out of a storybook. They started dating in the spring of 1980 and were married December 4, 1981. Everyone around, no matter if you knew them or not, knew they were in love. This love built a family, a life, and a home. The two were never far apart and enjoyed every moment, no matter how big or small. She was kind, empathetic, and loving. These qualities made her a wonderful mom. She always had a soft word or a shoulder to cry on, qualities that made her an even better grandmother. This seemed to be where she really shined. Her babies brought so joy to her every day. It's a good thing she loved the role, because she had a lot of grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Robert W. Browning; her daughter, Lora and husband, Eric Miller; son, David Browning; and her two honorary daughters (her nieces), Gena Bell and Angela Lichez-Wilson; grandchildren, Emma, Abigail, Shirley, Brady, Melody, Alexander, Justin, Victoria, and Lydia; sisters, Linda Rocco and husband, Ken, Pam Tinsman and husband Craig; brother, David Pape and wife, Sherry; 11 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great niece; many aunts, cousins; beloved friends, especially Brian and Denise Bewley and Louise and Hal Pittman, who were family to her.
