CLEBURNE -- On Sunday, July 29, 2007, Cheryl Marie Robertson Melton went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Burleson Memorial Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. She was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed baking wedding cakes and doing crafts. She had an eye for beauty and a hand for perfection. She walked her faith with every step she took. Cheryl helped start Healing Balm Church in Alvarado. Everyone loved to hear her teach the Word of God. She saw the good in every person and everything. She was truly a woman of faith. Cheryl was preceded in death by her sister, Robin G. Tatum, and grandparents, Louis and Marie Goodale. Survivors: Loving husband and soulmate, James D. Melton; her only child and precious daughter, Tippi Lackey and husband, Darryl W. Lackey Jr., whom she considered her God-given son-in-law; her beautiful grandchildren, Nee-Nee's Beanie and special love, her grandson, Dawson Alexander Lackey; granddaughter, Morgan Gianna Lackey "Nee Nee's little Booch"; her selfless, loving and caring parents, Robert E. and Patricia G. Robertson; her caring brother, Robert "Chip" Robertson; numerous nieces, nephews and several brothers- and sisters-in-law; and other friends and family.
