Chester Claude Smith

Chester Claude Smith, 96, of Keene passed away Friday, June 24, 2016. He was born March 19, 1920, to Claude Chester and Gertrude Smith. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Green Acres Cemetery in Cleburne, with Pastor Rick Owen officiating. Chester loved woodworking, fishing and hunting. He served as Burleson fire marshal for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred "Honey" Smith; son, Chester Smith; grandson, Chad Smith; and great-grandson, Christopher McCoy. Chester is survived by son, Donald Claude Smith and wife, Sherry, of Highland Village, Texas; granddaughter, Dorinda McCoy and husband, Tony, of Cleburne; grandson, Taylor Smith and wife, Stephanie, of Bedford; granddaughter, Katherine Daley and husband, Nathan, of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; grandson, Thomas Claude Smith and wife, Crystal, of Flower Mound; great-grandchildren, Amy Kimbrell and husband, Quinn, Christina Fitzgerald and husband, Ray, Jackson and Jakob Smith and Miles and Maeve Daley; and great-grandchildren, Madison Maddix and McKenzie Kimbrell.
