Clarence "Bud" Edwards

Clarence Ray Edwards (Bud) was born in Joshua, Texas, on January 13, 1943, to O.J. and Laveda (Barnett) Edwards. He passed away Thursday afternoon, April 29, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Bud grew up on the Edwards family farm with his parents and six siblings, O.C. and Jeanette Edwards, Ralph and Dorothy Edwards, Geneva and Jack Henderson, Barbara and Charles Schlieper, Patricia and John Logston and Deloris Edwards.

Bud graduated from Joshua High School in 1961. He retired after 25 years of service from the Santa Fe railroad. He then started a new career as maintenance supervisor at Joshua ISD.

Clarence (Bud) was preceded in death by his parents, O.J. and Laveda Edwards; his brothers, O.C. Edwards and Ralph Edwards; his sisters, Geneva Henderson, Patricia Logsdon and Deloris Edwards; and his stepdaughter, Misty Burks.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Edwards, and five children, son, Jacob Edwards; daughter, Tami and husband, Barry Callaway, and their children, Cody and Shelby Callaway, Christian Callaway and Cristin and Paul Cornelius; daughter, Laura and husband, Genero Valdez, and daughter, Miranda Valdez; daughter, Kristy Burks and son, Jonathan Burks; daughter, Brandy Burks and her daughters, Sarah Burks and Jayla Whitley. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Schlieper; and five great-grandchildren, Joedi, Carson, Charli, Liam and William.

Bud enjoyed woodworking, raising cattle, camping and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was loved and will be greatly missed until we meet again.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in the Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Caddo Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021.
