Interment: Caddo Cemetery in Joshua. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: American Cancer Society. The family returned to Texas and resided in Joshua when she was 12. She graduated from Joshua High School in 1953. Cleta was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Joshua, where she was a children's Sunday school teacher in her later years. She married Marvin Lee Walker on June 2, 1956, and raised three children, Scott, Susan and Steven. Cleta worked at Service Life and Williamson-Dickie. She retired in 1986 to keep her granddaughter, Leah Swinney. Cleta fought cancer for seven years, but never let it get her down. Whether at the cancer treatment center at Huguley or in the hospital, she always made everyone feel at ease, loved and very special. She was lovingly called Mom by many "adopted" children. If anyone was in need of a mom, she was there! Her favorite phrase was "I love you so!" Cleta loved playing bridge, whether with her bridge club or her friends and husband. The family appreciates all the love and prayers that everyone extended to her loved ones. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Robbye Grove; and half siblings, Coy, Aubrey and Marie. Survivors: Husband, Marvin L. Walker; sons, Scott and Steven Walker; daughter, Susan Walker Swinney; grandchildren, Maegan Walker Delcurto, Leah Swinney, Evan and Ethan Walker; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Claire Delcurto; brothers, Dorman Owens and Allen Owens of California.
