Clinton Joseph Welliver
05/03/1933 - 06/11/2024
Clinton Welliver, 91, of Crowley, Texas went to heaven peacefully in his sleep at home early morning on June 11th 2024. Born in Duluth, Minnesota to Marie Rose and Raymond Welliver, on May 3rd, 1933. Clinton attended Inglewood High School halfway through the 10th grade. He then enlisted at the age of 18 in the Air Force where he was a tail gunner on the B29 during the Korean War and served from 1951-1955. He was active in the reserves from 1955-1959. During his time in the Air Force he met Doris Marie Middleton while he was stationed at Forbes Field AFB in Topeka, Kansas. They later married in Wichita, Kansas in 1954 and were together until her passing in 2000. They enjoyed music, dancing and playing cards with family and friends. Clint loved spending quality time with both sides of the family. They had 5 children born in California; raised in Minnesota. After his military service completed he went into the aviation and aircraft cutting tool manufacturing business for 63 years. Within those years he designed and manufactured patents on 4 different types of cutting tools. He became a born again Christian in 1967 at Ossipee Community Church in Merrifield, MN. Due to business opportunities in 1977 he moved the family to Hawthorne, California. His largest honor as a Christian was being elected as President of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International (FGBMFI) of the Los Angeles, California Chapter. Clinton and a business partner bought out a tool and cutter grinding shop in Orange, California in 1988. After a few months he started praying for the Lord to answer his prayers to have his business partner sell his 50% of the business to him. Then one day a MIRACLE from God happened, his business partner came to him to ask if he would be willing to buy-out his 50% of the company. He did and renamed the company Sun-Cal Grinding And Manufacturing. The company was then relocated in 1994 to Crowley, Texas with several employees willing to transfer with the company. Due to health reasons in 2016 he decided to sell the business. After Doris Welliver's passing he married Alice Cain and together they had a daughter named Eva Joyce Welliver in Joshua, Texas. Living out in the country Eva was able to enjoy horseback riding, jumping from the barn loft onto the bales of hay below, riding her mini motorcycle, and spending time with her parents at the family business.
