BURLESON -- Clyde Odom Parnell, 64, a loan officer, of Burleson died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Bethany Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort Worth Optimist Baseball Club. Clyde was born April 30, 1944, in Orange to Frank and Rubye Alexander Parnell. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Clyde loved working and sports officiating. He was the executive director of the Texas Ameture Baseball Umpires (T.A.B.U.). Clyde was a graduate of UTA in 1975. He also was a life member of the American Legion 569 and he retired from AT&T. Survivors: Sons, Jeff Parnell, Todd Parnell; daughter, Lisa Parnell; brother, Billy Frank Parnell; eight grandchildren; two nephews.
