Cory James Bishop

Cory Bishop age 47 died Sunday January 19th, 2025 at the hospital in Ft. Worth, TX.
Cory was born October 7th, 1977 in Ulysses, Ks to parents Doug and Vickie Bishop.
Cory attended school in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School in 1996. While in school he played football,
basketball, soccer, but baseball was his favorite. He loved to watch any baseball game but he really became a big Texas Rangers fan.
He went to West Texas A&M and graduated in 2001 with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology.
While in college he met Alicia Wilson and they were married July 14, 2001.
In 2002 they moved to Burleson TX.
He was a very proud father of his two daughters, Kaylee and Kaci.
He worked in various rolls all focused on
advocating for the rights and wellbeing of children. He knew from a small age that he wanted to work with children that needed help.
Cory had a great sense of humor and always had a smile for everyone he met.
And he never knew a stranger. He liked watching sports, working on cars and spending time with friends.
He is survived by his wife Alicia, daughter, Kaylee Gordon and her husband Robbie, Burleson TX, daughter Kaci Bishop, Burleson, TX. Parents Doug & Vickie Bishop, Ulysses, Ks, sister Kristy Hale and her husband Nate, niece Taelynn Hale, Ulysses, Ks and Sydnee Hale, Hugoton, Ks.
Grandmother Kathryn Yardley, Garden City, Ks. Aunts, Uncles and several cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Leonard Yardley and grandmother DoraLee Bishop.
Memorial Service will be held Friday January 24th at 10:00 am, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home of Joshua Tx.
