C.W. Vest

C.W. Vest, 85, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, in Glen Rose, Texas. C.W.'s parents were Cliff Vest and Myrna Vest and he grew in the Rock Creek Community on a dairy farm. He milked cows, hauled hay, and planted and harvested crops. C.W. spent his school years with JISD and graduated in 1956. He was a strong competition and played baseball and football. C.W. served as Justice of the Peace and actually married a couple. They stayed married for years. He worked at the Santa Fe Railroad for thirty-one plus years and owned and operated Vest Well Service for fifty years. All the little old ladies whose wells he serviced wrote thank you notes for his Christmas calendars. One of the ladies even baked cookies for him when her well broke down. They appreciated his honesty and knew they could count on him.
C.W. is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Linda Lawrence Vest, his daughter, Holly Anne Vest, sister, Phyllis Sandlin, plus nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Thompson.
