BURLESON -- Dan Owen Sheppard, 83, of Burleson, a retired grocery manager, passed away Wed. November 24, 2010 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11 am Saturday at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6-8 pm Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Dan was born May 4, 1927 in Frost to Theodore and Era Meador Sheppard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson where he served as a Deacon and Teacher. Dan was known as a gentle man and minister to others. He was a member of the masonic lodge for over 60 years. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Janet Sheppard Felber, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors: Wife, Elizabeth Jones Sheppard of Burleson; daughter, Dana Sheppard Summers and husband Glen; son, Paul Owen Sheppard and wife Connie; brother, Rex Garvin Sheppard; sisters, Janie May Sheppard, Flora Erlene Sheppard Peavler; son in law, Mike Felber; grandchildren, Staci Summers Pollard and husband Aaron, Stephanie Summers Crawford and husband Steven, Steven Glen Summers, Hayley Sheppard Clark and husband Chris, Jonathan Felber and wife Amanda, Ryan Felber, Andrew Felber; great grandchildren, Paul Clark, Mattie Clark, Nolan Clark, Mary Cranford, James Cranford; numerous nieces, nephews; extended family and friends.
