Darla Jean Mcfarland

Darla Jean (Nana) McFarland, 86, of Joshua passed peacefully September 5, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. Funeral Service: 2PM Thursday, September 7, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Joshua. No Visitation. Interment: Union Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or Community Hospice of Texas 301 Medpark Cir, Burleson, TX 76028. Mrs. McFarland was born April 26, 1931 to the late Nevada and Walter Gardner in Joshua Texas. She Graduated Joshua High School in 1949 and married the late James A. McFarland on January 24, 1951. Darla retired from Graybar Electric and worked several years at the Joshua Western Auto. She was an avid genealogist, was a supporter of the Kairos Prison Ministry, and was a lifelong member of the Joshua Methodist Church. She loved to travel and was always available to assist family and friends in times of need. Darla is survived by her 3 children, James McFarland and wife Maria of Joshua; David McFarland and wife Susan of Joshua; Melinda Parsons and Husband Craig of Aledo. Victor and Nancy Hernandez, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
