BURLESON -- An active community leader, a well known business man, a loving husband and a friend of many, David L. Baldwin, President of First National Bank of Burleson, passed from this life on September 11, 2007. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Saturday Sept. 15, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Born June 1, 1941 to John and Bessie Baldwin, David was one of eight children. He married Arzie Rader on February 1, 1963. Baldwin started his banking career in Arkansas where he was involved in the operations, lending and computer departments. Baldwin and his wife, Arzie, left Arkansas for Texas in 1969 to pursue his banking career. He worked in Dallas, Houston and Mesquite before settling in Burleson, Texas. Baldwin held positions as Operations Officer, Senior Vice President and Cashier. He spent 12 years at Republic Bank in Dallas in various areas including computer services, developing and writing programs. The Baldwins moved to Burleson in 1988 when he accepted the position as President of First National Bank of Burleson. He once said he really enjoyed living in Burleson because it was similar his hometown in Arkansas. He showed pride for his community through his continued support of local charities. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson where he was involved in various church activities. As a kidney transplant recipient since 1990, Baldwin helped other transplant patients through encouraging visits and follow up phone calls. He will always be remembered by his family and friends as a man who was passionate about life, his family and his work. Survivors: Wife, Arzie, and two sisters.
