David Ray Best

JOSHUA -- David Ray Best, 64, of Joshua, a retired engineer, died Monday, March 9, 2009, in Alvarado. Memorial service: Private in his beloved Jemenez Mountains in New Mexico at a later date. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: American Diabetes Foundation. David was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Fort Worth to N.V. and Addie Alexander Best. David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. David loved to travel, and loved the Jemenez Mountains in New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Sister, Bonnie Mitchell and husband, Neal, of Joshua; nephews, Scott Lail and wife, Lynn, of Glen Rose, Kyle Mitchell of Joshua; stepson, Carl Taylor of Port Angeles, Wash.; three great-nieces.
