Dawson Travis Barnes, 17, of Burleson, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 in Burleson.
Memorial Service: 6:00 PM Monday, August 26, 2019, Pathway Church in Burleson.
Dawson was born June 18, 2002 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Keith and Heather Barnes. He had a passion for baseball and deer hunting. He loved to dance with his Mom whether in the kitchen, parking lot, backporch, anywhere. His larger than life personality would light up the room and make everyone feel special. But it would also get him in trouble at school. He was still able to charm his teachers and coaches into forgiving him.
During his junior year, he was awarded 1st Team All-District DH, 2nd Team All Johnson County DH and 2nd Team All-State DH. He had a drive not everyone understood and his fear of failure fueled his passion to never be "outworked".
Dawson is survived by his parents, Keith and Heather Barnes, his best friend and sister, Kylie Barnes, grandparents, Travis and Mary Barnes and Farrell Jones, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dawson was preceded in death by his maternal grandmothers Billie Pace and Elaine Jones.
