Delores Cook Gilchrist passed away December 29 , 2018 at a local care facility after a lengthy illness.
Delores was born July 2, 1934 in Galvin County, Oklahoma to James and Pauline Cook, She married Stan Gilchrist on July 2,1952, and they were married for 61 years until his death in 2013. Delores was raised in Blair, Oklahoma. She resided in the Fort Worth area for over 60 years, most recently in the Crowley area. She was a retired nurse, working for the late Dr. Drue Ware & also for Dr. M.D. McDonald. Her hobbies included quilting and going to Bluegrass festivals. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stan, both parents, & a brother, Weldon (Sam) Cook.
Survivors, son; James Gilchrist of Burleson, daughter; Elaine Smith, of Ft. Smith, Ark., 2 granddaughters; Jamie Williams of Alma, Ark., & Jennifer Clem of Irmo, South Carolina, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
