It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Dexter Dwayne Daniels (aka: DD), who passed away peacefully on the morning of October 12, 2023. He was comforted by his Beloved Companion, Myrna Moss at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Fort Worth at the time of his passing. DD was 83 years old.
DD was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 24,1939, to Ethel May Williams. He is survived by three brothers, Olin Daniels, Robert Daniels, Dallas Daniels and preceded in death by Johnny Daniels, Phyllis Daniels, Ray Alan Daniels.
DD was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years Marjorie (Lord) Daniels. Together they created a beautiful, blended family of six children: Bruce Snell and wife Stacy, Boyd Daniels and wife Kendra, Brian Snell and wife Gayla, Tracy Daniels, Lorie (Daniels) Schroeder and husband Jeffrey, and Scott Snell (deceased). DD was blessed with 15 grandchildren: Katie (Snell) Keating, Liesl Tucker, Charlotte (Snell) Bailey, Kristen (Reynolds) Thomason, Kyle Reynolds, Evan Daniels, Garrett Schroeder, Levi Daniels, Amy (Daniels) Kauffman, Grayson Schroeder, Alicia Daniels, Meagan Daniels, Alex Daniels, Dylan Daniels, Owen Daniels as well as 10 great grandchildren.
DD attended Harlingen High School and graduated in 1959. He worked at Texas Bitulithic Company in North Texas for 20 plus years as a Master Mechanic. He retired in 2004 from Vought Aircraft Industries in Grand Prairie after 29 years of service as a Master Electrician. His hobbies included Shooting Pool, Karaoke, Dancing, Bowling, Bird Watching, but his true passion was creating and building things. From his own ingenuity, he designed and built his very unique house in Burleson, Texas. DD also built a trike motorcycle and named it, "My Toy." You might have seen him driving it around town or in the 4th of July Parade in Burleson, Texas.
DD had a passion for life, gave great hugs, loved Miller Lite beer, had many, many friends, and always had a big smile. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help a friend or family member in need. We will all miss him more than words can express.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
