Dick Loren Oliphant

Dick Loren Oliphant was born in Dallas, Texas on November 10, 1946, to Dick and Lorene Oliphant. He passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, as he began his journey to meet the heavenly father.

Dick was preceded in death by his brother Robert Oliphant and his parents, Dick and Lorene Oliphant, and grandson Dustin McCormack. He is survived by his wife, Linda Oliphant, three daughters, Toni McCormack, Sheri Oliphant, Kim Eason and sister Linda Howard Haney, grandson Nikola Walls and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Dick graduated from Southern Methodist University and began his career at Hamilton Form in 1972 where he worked as a CPA and Chief Financial Officer. He retired after 40 plus years with the company. During this time, he gained many close friendships that endured even after retirement. He even met Linda, the love of his life and perfect traveling companion where they enjoyed 43 years of adventure together.

A passion in Dick's life was music. He especially enjoyed listening and singing hymns, spiritual songs, and blue grass. Dick was a member and treasurer for both the Texas Millionaires Barbershop Chorus and Southwest Sound Chorus where he had and still has many friends. He was also a member of Killin' Time Barbershop Quartet. Recently he began taking piano lessons, as well.

Dick was an avid golfer playing as often as he could get a tee time. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, kayaking, or boating. Dick and Linda purchased a summer home in Galveston which family and friends gathered during many summers making priceless memories. Some of the more exciting adventures that Dick and Linda experienced were during their exotic trips to scuba dive in many different locals around the world.

Dick and his mischievous smile and antics will live forever live in our hearts.



In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Dick Oliphant.
