Donald Boyd Green was born in Bethesda, Texas on November 7, 1942 to Boyd and Katheleene Green. He passed away peacefully early Saturday morning June 22, 2024.
Don grew up on the Green family homestead with his parents and sister, Beverlee. He attended Nola Dunn grade school in Burleson. He played basketball and football while attending Burleson High School and graduated in 1961.
Don married Joan Hurst soon after graduation and together they had a son, Kevin. Don worked part time at the Gulf gas station in Burleson while attending a Jr College. He and Joan divorced in 1965.
Don began working for Gulf Oil and moved to Toledo, Ohio. He continued his college education and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at The University of Toledo in 1977. While working for Gulf in Toledo, he met Dolores (Dee) Costell. They married in 1970 and moved to Houston, Texas shortly after. Don and Dee adopted their daughter, Kelley in 1977. Don continued his college education and in 1980 he earned his Master of Business Administration degree at The University of Houston. He achieved his goal to become a Certified Public Accountant in 1980, as well.
When Chevron Oil acquired Gulf Oil, Don began traveling overseas to perform auditing projects. He would spend several weeks in the Middle East on these jobs. He would also perform audits in Indonesia, Libya and Alaska. Don loved working in the Middle East and would take on as many of these projects as he could. He continued his auditing career as an independent consultant for several years even after his retirement from Chevron.
Don and Dee traveled the world extensively which brought them great joy.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Katheleene Green.
He is survived by his wife Dee Green, his daughter Kelley Green of Conroe, Texas. Kevin (Tracy) Green and Granddaughter Taylor Green of Austin, Texas. Sister, Beverlee (Bill) Hill, Niece Marcia (Justin) Kirk, Great Niece Kalee (Chasen) Folmar, Great-Great Niece Fallon Folmar.
Niece Amy Stachowiak, great niece Jasmine (Dom) Cancilla, children Crew and Sienna, Tyler (Joy) Stachowiak, Tanner (Kaytlynn) Stachowiak and Ely Stachowiak.
