BURLESON -- Donald Norton Britt, 51 of Burleson, a retired police officer for Joshua, Burleson, and New Orleans, died Tuesday January 6, 2009 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Friday at Cana Baptist Church 2309 E. Renfro St. Burleson. Visitation 7-9 P.M. Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Emery J. Lilge Hospice House 301 Medpark Circle Burleson, Texas 76028. Donald was born August 17, 1957 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Douglas Norton and Patricia Ann Trader Britt. He married Lu Ann Williams on August 7, 1976 in Fort Worth, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Cana Baptist Church in Burleson, loved McDonald's, Starbucks, and playing canasta. He was a singer, songwriter, and helped form the band, 3:16. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was always witnessing his faith and Christianity to everyone he met. He never met a stranger and loved to talk. He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Rachel Ann Britt, and a brother, Michael Douglas Britt. Survivors: Wife, Lu Ann Britt of Burleson; son, Donald Douglas Britt of Dallas; daughters, Wendy Renee Simpson and husband, Donald of Burleson, Amy Lee Murr and husband Bobby of Burleson; mother, Patricia Ann Britt of Hartsville, South Carolina; sister, Kimberly Ann Clark and husband, Tony R., of Lancaster, South Carolina; grandchildren, Donald David, Rachel Marie, and Daniel Scott Simpson, Bobbydale III, and Alexis Wynonia Murr; several nieces and nephews.
