Donald O. Cheek

JOSHUA -- Donald O. Cheek, 71, owner of Don Cheek Real Estate, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at his residence in Joshua. Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Friday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Georges Creek Cemetery. Mr. Cheek was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Johnson County to Doc Orso and Eva Lena Wood Cheek. He proudly served his country in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong resident of Johnson County and a graduate of Joshua High School. He was a 17th degree York Rite, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Sons, Derek Cheek of Hale Center, Jett Cheek and wife Nancy of Denton, Don Cheek and wife Robyn of Grapevine, Lane Cheek an wife Laura of Denton, Laron Cheek and wfe Lisa of The Colony; stepson, Gary Walden of Santa Fe, New Mexico; stepdaughter, Kathy WILL CALL and husband David of Lubbock; sisters, Hattie Bell Stewart of Austin, Anita Martinec Rader of Moore Haven, Florida; nineteen grandchildren; numerous other family members.
