Donald Wayne Sherrill

Donald Wayne Sherrill, 72, of Burleson, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Graveside Service: 2PM Monday, March 6, 2017, DFW National Cemetery. Visitation: 2-4PM Sunday, March 5th, Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to attend. Don was born to parents XL and Erma Sherrill on February 4, 1945 in Lamesa. He grew up as the youngest of 4 children: Raymond, Jerry, and Marvin Lee. Don attended Joshua High School and in 1964, married his high school sweetheart, Paula Prater. In 1963, Don enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam from 1966-1967 with HMM-365. Don left the Marines after 4 years of service as a Sargent in 1967. He is preceded in death by his son, Adam; brothers, Raymond and Marvin Lee. Survivors: wife of 52 years, Paula; daughter, Amy; son, AJ and wife, Tempa; brother, Jerry; grandchildren, Tarah, Shelby, and Jacob; great-grandchild, Wesley; many other loving family and friends.
