BURLESON -- Douglas Lamar Howard, 73, of Burleson, a retired jet engine mechanic inspector, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Vistitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Douglas was born Dec. 8, 1936, in West Bowmans, Pa., to Joseph and Evelyn Berger Howard. He was loving husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 25 years of service. He married Dolores Vivian Maggard on March 16, 1957, in Fort Worth. Douglas loved hunting and fishing and was an avid bowler for many years. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Howard Jr.; his parents; and brothers, Donald Howard and Terry Howard. Survivors: Wife of 53 years, Dolores Howard of Burleson; daughters, Debbie Wilson and husband, Wade, of Lubbock, Cheri Head and husband, Elliott, of Bryan; grandchildren, Ashley, Lia, Amanda, Steven, Travis, Brooklynn; and brother, Larry Howard and wife, Nancy of West Bowmans, Pa.
