BURLESON -- Doyle Vernon Cornelison passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011, in the early morning hours at a hospice in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tommy Knotts, a family member, will officiate. Interment: Cope Cemetery in the Retta community in Johnson County. Pallbearers will be Doyle Cornelison, Gary Cornelison, Mark Perkins, Grant Cornelison, Cody Perkins and Lance Perkins. Doyle was an employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 42 years. He greatly enjoyed his work and the people he worked with. He was a proud Baptist. Doyle was born in the Retta community and was the son of Dave and Leatha Goodman Cornelison. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cecil Cornelison. Survivors: Wife, Billie Cornelison of Burleson; sons, Doyle Westley Cornelison of Bacliff and Kenneth Cornelison of Fort Worth, Gary Cornelison of Fort Worth and David Cornelison of Fort Worth, Mark L. Perkins of Burleson; grandsons, Wesley Cornelison of Rowlett, Barron and Grant Cornelison, both of Fort Worth, Cody Perkins of Springtown and Lance Perkins of Prosperity, Pa.; great-grandsons, Kaesy and Kyson of Rowlett; brother, Royce Cornelison and wife, Patrice, of Haltom City; brother-in-law, Joe Reed Carter of Bryan; and many nieces and nephews.
