Edmond "Harvey" Pfannstiel, 84, a retired trading post owner, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior after a brief illness Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at a Fort Worth hospital. He was surrounded by his family. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Burleson Memorial Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: Community Hospice of Texas, 817-870-9995. Harvey Pfannstiel was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Thrall. He came to Fort Worth, where he worked as a welder at Lowes Trailers then Gordon & Pope Machinery Company as a shipping clerk and purchaser. After his retirement, he ran Harvey's Trading Post on Hemphill Street. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lona Pfannstiel; brothers, Homer Baker, and wife, Valdie, Emmett Pfannstiel and Donald Pfannstiel and wife, Bonnie; sister, Laura McMinn and husband, Leslie; and son-in-law, Tim Stewart. Survivors: Wife, Genna Loice Pfannstiel; daughters, Joyce Stewart of Fort Worth and Betty Cate and husband, Garry, of Newark; grandsons, David Stewart and wife, Susan, of Baytown, Jeff Stewart and wife, Christy, of Fort Worth and Cody Cate of Newark; granddaughters, Rebekah Cate of McKinney and Rachel Miller and husband, Rusty, of Comanche; great-grandchildren, Hannah Davis, Jonah Stewart, Renna and Rees Miller; and numerous extended family members.
