JOSHUA -- Edwin Wilbur Carter, 73, a retired clerk for the U.S. Air Force, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 9 a.m. Thursday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: 3 p.m. Thursday in Mount Zion Cemetery in Jefferson. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Edwin was born March 14, 1932, in Jefferson to Osborne and Lola Watson Carter. Survivors: Wife, Sherry Carter of Joshua; sons, Richard Charles Carter and wife, Lourdes, Terry Wayne Carter and wife, Peggy, Gary L. Lesser, Russell Craig Smith and wife, Jessica, and Bruce Smith and wife, Carol; daughters, Susan Gonzalez, Patricia Ann Quaranta and husband, Ed, Linda Lesser Culbertson and husband, David, Lecia Purks and husband, Robert, Sheila Harvey and husband, Mark, and Martisha Williams; 25 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
