Longtime Joshua area resident, Elaine Byrd, 72, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Graveside Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, June 27, 2014, at Caddo Cemetery, Joshua. No Visitation scheduled. Elaine was born July 2, 1941, in Belton, to Ray and Ruby (Woods) Nichols. She adored her family, and cherished the fun time spent with her grandchildren. Survivors: husband of 55 years, Ted Byrd; sons, Gene Byrd and wife Stella, Mickie Byrd and wife Janet, Ronnie Byrd and wife, Windy; daughter, Debbie Maxey and husband Jack; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Dirickson and Husband Monte, Judy Johnston, and husband Gary; brothers, Tom Nichols and wife Ann, Dan Nichols and wife Zona; and a host of loving extended family and friends.
