JOSHUA -- Eleanor Bowman passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008. She was 100 years and 10 months of age. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Friday. Interment: Caddo Cemetery in Joshua. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowman was born June 5, 1907, in Cleburne to Hamilton Forest and Caroline Ramsey Moore. She and her family moved to Joshua when she was 8 years old and had lived there all her life. She married John Lois Bowman on Dec. 15, 1928. She worked for an accounting firm in Fort Worth for many years and retired from General Dynamics in 1972. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Joshua. She lived her life by the Golden Rule, treated everyone like she would want to be treated, and was never heard saying anything bad about anyone. She loved to play games and was good at them until the end. She was also an avid Cowboys and Rangers fan. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Trinity Mission in Burleson, Crowley Nursing and Rehab Center, and Odyssey Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Ray Bowman; grandson, David Bowman; her mother and father; one brother and one sister. Survivors: Son, John Bowman and wife, Kay, of Joshua; grandsons, Terry Bowman, Don Bowman, Robert Bowman, Jayson Bowman; granddaughters, Suzanne Walling and Shelley Scott; niece, Kathleen and Frank Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
