Eleene G. Pippin

October 4, 1939 — March 18, 2022

Burleson

Mildred Eleene (Glaze) Pippin, 82, of Burleson, passed away on March 18th after a year-long battle with cancer. Eleene was born on October 4, 1939 to Reverend John Lloyd Glaze and Myrtle (McCormick) Glaze in Nixon, Texas. After graduating from Bruceville-Eddy High School in 1957, she went on to study business at Jackson Business College in Lampasas, TX. After graduation, she worked at Branch-Smith Publishing in the editorial department. Later, she worked at GD, Texas Refinery Corporation, Spinks Industries and finally at Courtney and Courtney Properties where she retired in 2018 after 31 years managing the office of Will Courtney. On April 2, 1960, she married Kenneth Neil Pippin in Strawn, TX, and they were happily married for 47 years. They had 2 children, Angela and Keith. Together they owned Eleene’s House of Ceramics out of their garage and then in the old Jones Funeral Home in Burleson. Eleene was beloved by her family and numerous friends. She spent many years serving her church, she was an accomplished painter and played the piano. In her later years, she was an avid reader and always had a new book on her Kindle. Despite numerous back surgeries, she never complained about the pain she endured the last decade. She was strong in mind, body and spirit. She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed. Eleene was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth. She is survived by daughter Angela Dawn (Pippin) Tolliver and her husband Darrell; son Brian Keith Pippin and his wife Jill; grandchildren: Rowan and Riley Pippin, Lexie Hobby, Lydia and Cameron Perez, Mitch, Denise, and Sean Tolliver, Meme Montgomery, and special long-time friends Milton and Jane Gibson, David and Margaret Prewitt, and Gail Skiles aunts Mildred (Toady) Montgomery and Helen Watts, and 3 great grandchildren. A special thank you to the wonderful staff of One Point Hospice who made it possible to honor her wishes to remain in her home. There will be a celebration of life service at 2PM Saturday, April 2, 2022 and a visitation from 6-8 Friday, April 1, 2022 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua.
