Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Grisham was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 28,1935 to Perry Houston Cate and Helen (Leach) Cate. She passed away peacefully early Sunday Morning, December 15, 2024, `to be joined with her husband, Dalton, in their new heavenly home.
Most of Betty's childhood was that of an only child with her mom Helen, since she had lost her dad to a heart attack when she was only nine and her little brother preceded her to heaven as an infant of only one. This was a meager lifestyle with the hardships of a single mom and child. Betty was attending Paschal High School in Fort Worth and at the age of 15 she met the love of her life, Dalton. They were married on December 21,1951 and their love grew only stronger each year of their almost 60 years together. They moved to Burleson in 1960 and remained there the rest of their lives. Betty worked as a secretary and in payroll at General Printing Ink and at Redman Mobil Homes, and in the beginning several part time jobs to make ends meet. Later, as Dalton's Conveyor business grew, she could concentrate on the management of keeping the household and helping her children with their now growing families. Betty and Dalton were seldom apart. They traveled extensively throughout the country and the world and spent a considerable amount of time at their ranch in Cranfills Gap, TX.
Betty was well known for her sweet and cheerful demeaner, as everyone was always greeted with a large infectious smile. She also instilled a love for animals and a love for travel. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.
Betty was preceded in death by her Husband Dalton Grisham, her parents, Perry Houston Cate and Helen Cate (Watkins), and her brother Edward Cate.
